Addressing gut health to finally see some progress

I’m 48 now and the last few years have been a real struggle with my weight. I tried Keto for six months, but the brain fog was too much. Then I tried Intermittent Fasting, which helped a bit with my energy, but the scale just wouldn’t move past a certain point. I felt like my metabolism had completely shut down. After reading about how gut bacteria affects fat storage, especially in the cecum, I decided to try a different route.

I started taking LeanBiome (usually discouted here) about four months ago because it had those specific “lean bacteria” strains like L. gasseri and L. rhamnosus. I liked that it used delayed-release capsules because my stomach is pretty sensitive to supplements.

Here is how it went for me:

  • Month 1: I didn’t lose any weight, which was frustrating. However, the constant bloating I had after lunch finally stopped.
  • Month 2: I lost 5 pounds. I noticed I wasn’t reaching for snacks at 3 PM anymore.
  • Month 3: I hit a two-week plateau where nothing changed. I almost quit, but I stuck with it and ended the month down another 4 pounds.

The biggest difference between this and just dieting was that I didn’t feel “starved.” The Green Select Phytosome in LeanBiome seemed to help with my metabolism without making me feel jittery like coffee does.

Is it perfect? No. It’s a bit pricey, and you really have to be consistent. If I missed a few days, the bloating came right back. Also, don’t expect it to work overnight. It took a full month before I felt anything happening internally. If you’re looking for a quick fix, this probably isn’t it, but for long-term gut health, it’s been solid. LeanBiome definitely helped me break through a wall I couldn’t climb on my own.

I’m in the same boat with the ‘midlife middle.’ Did you change your diet at all while taking it, or just added the supplement?

I’m glad you mentioned the bloating. I’ve been on LeanBiome for two months and that was the first thing I noticed too. The weight loss is slower for me, but the comfort is worth it.

Keto was a disaster for my digestion. I think we underestimate how much our gut flora gets messed up as we age. Thanks for the detailed breakdown.

Any issues with heartburn? I usually have trouble with green tea extracts because of the acidity.

I’ve heard about the L. gasseri strain before. It’s supposed to be one of the few that actually survives the stomach acid if it’s encapsulated correctly.

That plateau in month 3 would have killed my motivation. Glad you stuck through it. I always give up after two weeks if the scale doesn’t move.

Where did you buy it? I’m seeing a few different versions online and I want to make sure I get the right one.

I started LeanBiome back in January. It took a while to see results on the scale, but my energy levels are way higher now and I’ve dropped two pant sizes.

I tried a generic probiotic from the grocery store and it just made me more gassy. Maybe the specific strains actually matter more than the total count.

Do you take it in the morning or at night? I wonder if timing changes the absorption.

My sister recommended LeanBiome to me after she had success with it. I’m down 12 pounds in three months and I just feel ‘lighter’ overall if that makes sense.

I was skeptical because of the price, but LeanBiome actually worked for my stubborn belly fat when keto failed me. You just have to be patient with the timeline.

I’m 52 and my doctor said my microbiome was likely the issue. This sounds like it might be worth a shot if the shipping isn’t too slow.

Is it a large pill? I have a hard time swallowing those giant horse-pill multivitamins.

Following this. I’ve been struggling with weight gain since menopause hit and nothing seems to work like it used to.

To answer a few questions: I take it in the morning on an empty stomach. The capsules are average size, not too big. And yes, I still try to walk 30 mins a day!
