I spent years doing crossword puzzles and taking expensive herbal supplements, but my memory still felt like a sieve after I hit 55. I was constantly forgetting names and losing my train of thought mid-sentence, which was incredibly frustrating during work meetings.
What I tried before
Ginkgo and traditional brain games didn’t do much for my actual recall. They felt more like a temporary distraction than a long-term solution.
What I changed
I started using a digital frequency program called Brain Song (i get it here) every morning for 15 minutes. It uses specific sounds to help clear out neurotoxins that accumulate as we age.
Week-by-week
- Weeks 1-3: Not much happened. I almost quit because it felt like just listening to background noise.
- Month 2: I noticed the “fog” lifting. I could follow complex plots in books again without re-reading pages.
- Month 4: My focus is significantly sharper.
What improved
Using Brain Song has made me feel more “present.” I’m not struggling for words as often during conversations.
What didn’t
It’s not a magic pill. If I don’t sleep well, the benefits of Brain Song are harder to notice. It takes real consistency.

Does the sound bother you at all? I’m sensitive to certain pitches and wondering if it’s relaxing or more like static.

I’ve been using Brain Song for about two months now and the results are definitely there. For me, it’s actually quite soothing once you get used to the routine.

I’m always a bit skeptical of ‘frequency’ stuff. Is there actual science behind the neurotoxin claim or is it just anecdotal?

Do you have to do the full 15 minutes all at once? My mornings are usually pretty hectic with the grandkids.

I tried Sudoku for a year and it just made me better at Sudoku, didn’t help me find my glasses lol. Might look into this.

Did you notice any changes in your sleep quality too? Usually when my brain is clearer, I sleep better.

Consistency is always my struggle. I tend to start these things and then forget by day five. Did you set a reminder?

Is this a subscription or a one-time thing? I’m tired of monthly fees for every little health app.

My experience with Brain Song has been similar to yours. It didn’t happen overnight, but my afternoon brain fog is basically gone now.

Glad to hear you found something that works. It’s so frustrating when you feel like your mind is slowing down and everyone just says ‘it’s part of aging.’
