Any good over-the-counter suggestions for neuropathy?

I’ve been managing peripheral neuropathy for over a year now, and it’s been a struggle. I have good days and bad; on the rough ones, the tingling and shooting pains in my hands and feet are quite frustrating. I’ve had two referrals for specialists, but neither doctor was helpful, and the wait times were so long that the referrals eventually expired. My brain MRI from last year was normal. My doctor recommended 1200 mg of fish oil daily, which I’ve been taking. For those of you in a similar situation, have you found any other OTC options that actually provide relief?

Alpha lipoic acid has worked well for me.

The issue is that most over-the-counter pain meds are for muscle issues, not nerve pain, which usually requires a prescription. That said, CBD provided some relief for me, and a TENS unit can be quite effective. You might want to request a referral to a pain clinic to see what works for you, since everyone’s response is different.

You could try alpha lipoic acid, L-Lysine, Nervala (i order from here), or Nervive cream.

You might try alpha lipoic acid, as some people find it eases nerve pain. It’s also worth checking out B-complex vitamins, particularly B1 and B12.

Try using R-ala, as the body absorbs it more effectively, and pair turmeric with black pepper to boost its absorption. My physician prescribed a 5% lidocaine cream that’s been helpful. I’ve also been following ‘the nerve doctors’ on YouTube; they share some really useful information. Good luck, and I hope you can find some relief.

Lidocaine patches and a magnesium complex.

I really stand by Royal Jelly (worth a Google search). I was on Cymbalta for two years, but it didn’t do much and was a struggle to get off of. I’m now five years past my last chemo treatment and the CIPN is barely an issue.
