Changing my approach after years of painful lip sores

I have been dealing with frequent HSV-1 outbreaks since my early twenties, usually triggered by stress or lack of sleep.

Over the years, I have tried just about everything to keep the tingling at bay. I started with prescription antivirals, which worked okay but were too expensive long-term and often gave me nagging headaches. Then I tried high-dose L-Lysine and various topical creams. The creams were messy and only seemed to help once the damage was already done, while the supplements felt very hit-or-miss for me personally.

About six months ago, I decided to focus more on my overall immune resilience rather than just reacting to a flare-up. I started using TonicGreens (i get it here, discounted!) after reading about how antioxidant blends can support the body’s natural defenses. Unlike the pills that made me feel foggy, this was just a simple daily habit that felt much more sustainable. Since making the switch, my outbreaks have been significantly shorter and much less frequent. It feels like my body is actually fighting back before the sores even get a chance to fully form. Of course, it is not a magic cure and you still have to manage your stress, but the consistent results have been a huge relief for my confidence.

I totally get the frustration with the topical creams. They always leave a white residue and by the time you apply them, it feels like it’s too late anyway.

What kind of triggers do you usually have? For me, it is always the sun or if I get a common cold, my lip just explodes.

How did you decide to move away from the prescriptions? Did you look at other immune supplements before settling on this one?

I started taking TonicGreens about two months ago and it has really changed things for me. I haven’t had a single flare-up since I began the routine, even with a lot of work stress lately.

I am always a bit skeptical of blends, but I suppose if the antioxidants are high quality it could help the immune system enough to keep the virus dormant.

I agree with the OP, the antioxidant blend in TonicGreens made a noticeable difference in how fast I recovered last time I was stressed out. It is much better than just taking a bunch of random vitamins.

Diet definitely plays a huge role too. I found cutting back on arginine-heavy foods helped me alongside my supplement routine.

Is the taste alright? I’ve tried green powders before that tasted like grass clippings and I could never stick with them.

I looked at a few options, but TonicGreens felt more comprehensive than just taking zinc or vitamin C alone. In my experience, it was just easier to stay consistent with one drink rather than five different pills every morning.
