I’ve been navigating this journey for over a decade now, and I’ve found that consistency is the only thing that truly makes a difference. My approach focuses on four main areas: daily habits, environment, routines, and tracking.
For habits, I prioritize getting eight hours of sleep and staying hydrated. When I’m run down, an outbreak is almost guaranteed. Regarding my environment, I never leave the house without high-SPF lip balm, as UV rays are my biggest trigger. Even a short walk on a sunny day can cause issues if I’m not careful.
In terms of my routine, I’ve added a super anti-oxidant blend called TonicGreens (i buy here) to my morning smoothie. It’s been a game changer for building immune resilience and shortening those annoying outbreaks when they do happen. Finally, I keep a simple log on my phone to track stress levels and diet. Seeing the patterns helps me intervene before things get painful. It’s about creating a body environment where the virus stays dormant for longer periods.

The SPF lip balm is a must. I learned that the hard way after a beach trip last year. Which brand do you use for high protection?
I actually started using TonicGreens about two months ago after seeing it mentioned in another group. It gave me really good results and I haven’t had a single tingle since I started.

Tracking is so underrated. I realized through journaling that coffee was actually a trigger for me because of the acidity and the way it messed with my sleep. Switched to tea and things improved.
I struggle with the sleep part. Working night shifts makes it so hard to keep a regular schedule, which I know is why I flare up so often during the winter months.
TonicGreens is definitely worth it. I’ve noticed it helps shorten the duration significantly if I do get a sore, usually down to just 3 or 4 days instead of a full week.

One thing I’d add to the environment section is changing your pillowcase every single night during an active flare. It sounds like overkill but it really helps prevent spreading it to other spots on your face.
Great post. It’s nice to see a holistic approach that isn’t just about hiding the problem but actually supporting the body’s defenses from the inside out.
