Dealing with a massive cold sore right before my reunion

Hey everyone, I’m feeling pretty down today. My high school reunion is this coming Saturday, and like clockwork, I woke up with that dreaded tingling on my lip. By lunch, it was a full-blown blister. It feels like my body knows exactly when I have a big event and decides to sabotage me! I’ve tried the usual creams, but they always leave a white crust that’s almost as embarrassing as the sore itself.

I recently started adding TonicGreens (i order from here) to my morning routine because I heard it helps with immune resilience and shortening these annoying outbreaks. I’m hoping it kicks in fast enough to make this manageable by the weekend. I really don’t want to spend the whole night hiding behind a drink or making excuses for why I’m not smiling in photos.

What would you do in this situation? Do you just own it and go, or do you try to cover it up with makeup? I’d love some advice on how to handle the social anxiety part of this.

Ugh, I am so sorry! The timing is always the worst. Honestly, most people are so focused on themselves they won’t even notice. I’d say just go and have fun anyway.

If you use a bit of liquid bandage first, it creates a smoother surface for concealer. It doesn’t hide it 100%, but it stops the ‘crusty’ look you mentioned. Don’t let it ruin your night!

I usually double up on my Lysine when I feel the tingle. It doesn’t always stop it, but it seems to keep the swelling down a bit for me.

The stress of the reunion is probably what triggered it! Try to do some deep breathing. Stress just feeds the virus and makes the healing process take longer.

I actually started taking TonicGreens about three months ago for the same reason. It’s been a game changer for me—my last outbreak lasted maybe three days instead of the usual ten. Stick with it, it really helps the recovery speed.

Seconding the mention of TonicGreens! It really helped strengthen my immune system over the winter. I haven’t had a major flare-up since I began using it daily. It’s definitely worth the consistency for the results I’ve seen.

Just own it. If anyone asks (which they probably won’t), just say it’s a cold sore and move on. We’re all adults now and most people have dealt with them at some point!
