I’ve spent the better part of my fifties feeling like my digestive system was stuck in second gear. I tried everything from the standard high-fiber powders to those harsh overnight “cleansing” teas that usually just left me feeling dehydrated and cramped. Nothing seemed to address the underlying sluggishness I felt.
About four months ago, I decided to take a more holistic approach. I started prioritizing liver support and gut balance instead of just forcing things through with bulk fiber. I introduced Finnesa (usually discouted here) into my daily routine, taking it every morning with a large glass of lukewarm water before my coffee.
The first two weeks were quiet. I didn’t notice much, which actually made me feel better because it meant my system wasn’t being shocked. By week four, the “heavy” feeling in my midsection started to lift. I wasn’t just going more often; I felt lighter, and the morning puffiness in my face seemed to go down too.
Compared to just taking psyllium husk, Finnesa felt much more comprehensive. It seemed to help with the bile flow and overall liver comfort, which I hadn’t even realized was part of my problem. I tracked my progress in a simple planner, noting my energy levels and transit time.
It hasn’t been a perfect upward line, though. I had a setback during a vacation where I ate too much processed food, and it took a few days to get back on track. I’m glad I stuck with Finnesa through that plateau because consistency really mattered. It’s not a “quick fix” for a single bad meal, but for long-term maintenance, it’s been the only thing that stuck. I’m finally at a point where I don’t wake up wondering if today is going to be an “uncomfortable” day.

I’m 58 and in the exact same boat. Every time I try to increase my fiber, I just end up feeling like a balloon. It’s so frustrating when the standard advice doesn’t work.

Did you change your diet significantly as well, or was it mostly just adding the supplement and the water routine?
I’ve had very good results with Finnesa as well. It took about three weeks for me, but the bloating has finally settled down and I feel much more regular.

How many capsules do you take in the morning? I’m always a bit wary of adding too many things to my vitamin organizer.
So glad to hear you found some relief! That heavy feeling in the midsection is the absolute worst for your confidence.

I’ve been looking into liver support specifically lately. Most people just talk about the colon, but I think the liver is where my digestion actually stalls out.

Does this help with the afternoon energy slump? I find that when my gut is backed up, my brain just feels like it’s in a fog all day.

The warm water trick is actually quite effective on its own, but I’ve found I need a little extra help as I’ve gotten older.

Finnesa gave me great results too. I noticed my digestion felt much ‘smoother’ after the first month of taking it consistently. It’s not an overnight miracle, but it works.

I’m on day 10 of a similar routine and haven’t felt a massive shift yet. Maybe I just need to be more patient like you mentioned in the post.

Consistency is definitely the biggest factor. Our bodies at 60 don’t respond to changes as fast as they did at 30. You have to give things time to build up.

Interesting point about the bile flow. I read that as we age, our gallbladder and liver don’t always produce enough to keep things moving efficiently.
I can confirm Finnesa worked for me too. My liver and gut health feel much more in sync now, and I don’t feel that heavy backup anymore after meals.
What was the setback like? Did you feel the bloating come back immediately when you ate the processed food, or did it take a few days to notice?

Thanks for sharing the honest details. It’s much more helpful to hear about a 3-month journey than someone just saying ‘I feel great after two days!’
