I’ve spent years dealing with that “heavy leg” feeling. At 52, I thought it was just my new normal. I’d wake up fine, but by 4 PM, my socks would leave deep indentations. Compression socks were uncomfortable, and cutting salt was miserable. I even tried standard diuretics, but they just made me dizzy.
What I changed
I started looking into why my body was hoarding fluid. I found some research from Georgetown and UNC about the AVP hormone (the “pee hormone”) and how it can trap waste in your legs. I decided to try a specific 7-second fluid release technique using Flush Factor Plus (i get it here). It’s a natural protocol based on work by Dr. Spencer Morgan to help open those drainage valves.
Week-by-week progress
- Weeks 1-2: I didn’t feel like a new person immediately. I was actually a bit frustrated because the scale didn’t move much at first.
- Week 4: This was the turning point. I noticed I could zip up my tall boots again. The skin on my shins didn’t feel so tight and shiny by the end of the day.
- Month 2: The persistent swelling in my left ankle—which has been there since a 2019 sprain—finally subsided.
What improved
The biggest win is mobility. I can go for a 2-mile walk now without that throbbing pressure. It feels like I’ve dropped “fluid weight” that keto just wouldn’t touch.
What didn’t
It’s not a miracle cure for fat loss. If you’re overeating, this won’t fix that. Also, you have to stay consistent. I missed a few days while traveling and felt the puffiness returning. Flush Factor Plus is a tool, not a magic wand. I’ve found that using Flush Factor Plus alongside more water intake works best for me.
Has anyone else looked into the AVP hormone connection?

I’m on my second bottle of Flush Factor Plus and the difference in my morning stiffness is night and day. My knees don’t feel like they’re full of water anymore.

Did you change your salt intake while you were doing this? I find that even if I do everything right, one salty meal ruins my progress for a week.

Flush Factor Plus really helped me get through a plateau where I was just holding onto water no matter how much keto I did. It’s nice to see my actual ankles again.

What exactly is the 7-second thing? Is it just a supplement or a specific exercise you do? I’m always wary of things that sound too quick.

I’ve tried similar things. For me, the key was also elevating my legs for 20 minutes before bed. It helps the drainage process along.

Ugh, the sock indentations are the worst. I’m 48 and starting to see this more and more. It makes me feel twenty years older than I am.
Is it expensive? I feel like I’ve spent a fortune on different ‘water pills’ that just make me dehydrated without actually fixing the leg swelling.

Compression socks actually gave me a rash last summer. I had to stop wearing them. Looking for an internal solution instead of just squeezing the fluid around.

I’ve read some of Dr. Morgan’s stuff before. He focuses a lot on the kidneys and how they signal the rest of the body to hold fluid. It’s interesting science.

I was skeptical about the AVP hormone stuff but Flush Factor Plus definitely slimmed down my calves after about six weeks. It’s not an overnight fix but it works.

Thanks for the update. I might give this a shot. I’m tired of my legs feeling like logs by the end of every work day.
