Dealing with that constant throb in my lower spine?

I have spent the better part of the last decade trying to manage what my doctor calls general wear and tear in my lumbar region.

Most days it felt like a hot wire was running down my leg. I tried those high-dose ibuprofen regimens, but my stomach just couldn’t handle the acidity after a while. Then I moved to those sticky medicated patches. They were alright for an hour, but they never felt like they actually reached the source of the problem, and the smell was just too much for my wife.

After seeing a few folks talk about natural blends used in the Azores, I decided to give Balmorex (usually discouted here) a try. It’s a topical balm, but the chemistry behind it seems more focused on the inflammatory stuff pressing on the nerves. It has Indian Frankincense and Ginger Root, which I’ve used in teas before, but having it in a concentrated rub felt different.

I noticed the burning pressure started to subside after about four or five days of applying it twice a day. What I like most is that it’s not greasy. I can put it on and pull my shirt down immediately without worrying about stains. It provides a kind of deep tissue relief that the cooling gels just don’t touch. It feels like it actually penetrates to where the muscle meets the bone.

It isn’t a total cure-all, and I still do my daily stretches, but the sharp ‘lightning’ pains are much less frequent now. I think consistency is key with this kind of stuff; you can’t just use it once and expect a miracle. Has anyone else here had luck with MSM-based topicals, or are you still sticking with the oral supplements?

How did you decide on this one over the standard store-bought lidocaine creams? I’ve tried a few but they just numb the skin.

I’m 62 and my lower back is my worst enemy. I’ve been using a heating pad every night but it’s getting old and I worry about burning my skin.

I actually started using Balmorex for my sciatica last month. The hemp seed oil in it really helps with the skin irritation I usually get from other rubs.

My sister gave me a jar of Balmorex for my birthday. I was skeptical but it actually helps my stiff knees in the morning. Much better than the greasy stuff I used to use.

I tried the lidocaine ones too, but for me, Balmorex worked better because it felt like it was calming the inflammation rather than just masking it with a numbing agent.

Ginger root is great for inflammation. I take it in capsule form but never thought about rubbing it on directly. Might be worth a shot.

Is it really non-greasy? Every balm I’ve ever bought leaves a huge oil spot on my recliner if I’m not careful.

I’ve had similar results with MSM. It takes a while to build up in the system but it does make a difference for the deep aches.
