Did anyone manage to identify the reason behind their exhaustion, mental cloudiness, and forgetfulness?

I’ve always been a bit scatterbrained, but for the past few years, it feels like I’m living with a heavy weight in my head, in a constant state of dullness. I can’t even focus on a conversation for thirty seconds, I struggle to find basic words when speaking, I forget names in books I’ve just read, and this morning I even forgot to finish buttoning my shirt. I’m perpetually exhausted despite sleeping well, and ‘brain fog’ doesn’t even begin to describe it. I take a full range of vitamins—D3, Omega-3, magnesium, iron—but nothing changes. What is happening to me? Has anyone else figured this out? It’s honestly frightening.

I’m struggling with very similar symptoms after having Covid. It’s not improving much, especially my ability to concentrate and my eyesight.

I just found out I had a stroke during a surgery following an accident while I was in the military. I spent 20 years unable to remember things, forgetting simple words, and struggling to learn anything that wasn’t repetitive. I also dealt with constant dizziness. At least now I have an answer.

Yes, after five years of being told it was all in my head, I finally found a functional doctor who ran the right tests. It was Lyme disease—specifically Neuro Lyme. It’s been a journey, but adding BrainProtect (got mine here) to my routine has made a noticeable difference in my clarity.

I have. It was a mix of low Vitamin D, B12, and iron, plus hormonal imbalances and the lingering effects of Covid and the flu. Chronic stress from a toxic environment and lack of sleep didn’t help either. I’ve had these issues off and on; I have severe ADHD, and while that’s not the cause, these health issues made the symptoms much worse and led to me ‘checking out’ mentally. It really came down to physical imbalances and viral recovery. How are your stress levels and sleep quality? Do you snore at all?

If you’re a woman in your mid-30s or older, this could definitely be related to perimenopause.

I recently took a break from work and was able to finally de-stress. I had been dealing with sleep problems, fatigue, and memory issues for years. Once my sleep and stress levels normalized, I felt my brain finally recovering. My memory is sharp again and my energy is back to normal. Most of my problems were just stress and exhaustion.

Be careful with cheap Omega 3s from big online sites; they are often low quality or fake. I switched to a reputable brand for my Omega 3s and 6s and noticed a change within two days.

What is your job like? Do you spend all day switching between screens and tabs? I had similar symptoms and realized it was due to ‘continuous partial attention’—never focusing on one thing for long. I couldn’t even wait in a line without checking my phone. Once I changed those habits and stopped the constant digital switching, I started feeling like myself again.

You should get your thyroid levels checked.
