Based on what I’ve gone through, I’ve come to realize that Macular Degeneration must have various underlying causes. In my case, it’s driven by inflammation from my immune system attacking my body. Most people don’t suffer from (langerhans cell) ‘Histiocytosis,’ so they don’t deal with the same immune issues I do. This suggests that for the majority, their MAC is likely triggered by something entirely different. Interestingly, my dry Mac cleared up after three months on .50 Wegovy, and all my symptoms vanished. However, once insurance stopped covering it nine weeks ago and I had to stop, my symptoms returned. Now, when I look at spreadsheet lines with my left eye, I can see that distortion coming back. My point is that to find a cure, researchers need to identify the specific cause for each person. What helps me probably won’t help everyone else. In my opinion, they’ve tried many treatments, but they need to focus on stopping the root cause instead of just trying to fix the damage. Maybe they should tackle it from both sides?
