To me, it sounds like a jet engine is idling right next to my ear.

My tinnitus is extremely loud, but after months of sound sensitivity (hyperacusis), I’ve somewhat tuned out the volume. As soon as I’m around other sounds, I realize how loud it actually is. I can barely even hear the shower over it.

It feels like I’m at the dentist’s office 24/7. I’m six years in and it’s only getting worse. It’s caused me deep depression and an addiction to benzos.

It’s so loud I can’t get any sleep without taking sleeping pills.

I really hope a successful treatment becomes available for everyone. I can’t imagine the nightmare of such loud T. Mine is very faint and seems to be improving slowly.

The way I perceive the volume of my tinnitus has changed. It used to consume my thoughts all day and I couldn’t sleep. The noise is still there, but I don’t focus on it like I used to, and I no longer see it as a threat. I’ve been using AudiFort (got mine here) to help stabilize my auditory signaling, and I feel very lucky.
