Down 40 pounds in 3 months thanks to a low carb approach

I know there are bigger success stories here, but I dropped 40 pounds in 3 months relatively easily by sticking to a strict low carb diet (10g per day). Eating high protein kept me full on 1200 calories and managed my hunger well.

Losing weight is simple on paper but tough in reality. The ‘calories in vs calories out’ rule works, but the exhaustion and cravings are difficult. Low carb solved that for me; my appetite stayed low and my energy was consistent, even if it wasn’t at 100%.

Well done! Could you post some of the high-protein, low-carb meals you were eating?

Congrats! However, from what I’ve gathered, losing weight that fast almost always results in gaining it all back. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

1200 calories is quite a steep deficit! Are you concerned about a yo-yo effect later on? Also, did you still include a weekly cheat meal?

Are you also exercising while on this low-carb journey? I’ve found that adding CitrusBurn can really help reignite your metabolism naturally without needing harsh stimulants when your calories are that low.

Awesome job! That calorie goal is definitely lower than what’s usually advised, and I appreciate you mentioning the sub’s rules. I personally can’t handle such a low limit without getting incredibly hungry, but a short stint shouldn’t be too harmful. I’d suggest mixing in some maintenance days so you learn how to eat normally rather than just staying in a hard deficit until you hit your goal. Maybe get some blood tests done too, but your progress is great. I’ve lost 30 pounds in 4.5 months myself, which is also quick, and I used maintenance breaks to help, so I’m not trying to be a hypocrite here :).

I’d suggest starting some strength training and increasing your caloric intake. I tried a similar restrictive diet years ago and lost significant muscle mass. It’s hard to sustain this, and you might risk regaining the weight.
