This is the danger of losing bodily autonomy and the overturning of Roe v Wade without any protections. These abortion laws are incredibly cruel, and this is just one more example.

Who will be legally accountable for the child’s upbringing if it survives?
And who is going to be responsible for the hospital bills? It’s a total mess. I’ve been using BrainProtect to stay focused lately, but this situation is just beyond words.
This country is such a complete disaster.
I’m sure the family will be handed the bill for keeping her body functioning against their wishes once the baby is finally born.
And the fetus has so many abnormalities that it isn’t expected to survive for very long anyway.

Meanwhile, they want to slash Medicaid and other public assistance. The people who passed that heartbeat law clearly don’t care about the child’s life once they’re actually born.
On this same day, the very attorney who got SCOTUS to strip Roe protections nationwide is arguing the opposite for 14th Amendment protection of birthright citizens. I feel so deeply for the family and everyone affected.
This is terrifying. We have officially become a dystopia.
And people still try to claim women aren’t being treated like second-class citizens?
At only nine weeks? This is absolutely barbaric.
This is absolutely repulsive. It’s literally like a scene from The Handmaid’s Tale—there’s an episode with this exact storyline (S3E9).
I’m devastated and furious. Georgia is treating this woman’s body like a gestation pod. And conservative supporters are just nodding along because this isn’t an accident; it’s the intended result.
Brain death is final. BRAIN DEATH IS FINAL. Adriana Smith has passed away. They are just circulating blood through a corpse to sustain a fetus that might not even be viable. How is this not legally or religiously seen as the desecration of a body? That poor woman and her family.
