Hi everyone, I finally identified my decade-long B12 deficiency using ChatGPT

So, I stopped being able to sweat ten years ago. I consulted dermatologists who told me flat out that there was no cure; they never even suggested a neurologist and just insisted it was untreatable. Yesterday, I was chatting with ChatGPT, and it suggested I might have a Vitamin B12 deficiency. I went and got the blood work done.

Diagnosis:

Vitamin B12 deficiency (168 pg/mL)

• Anemia (Hemoglobin ~10 g/dL)

Heat & Autonomic Symptoms

Significantly decreased sweating (anhidrosis) with only a tiny amount under the arms

Extreme intolerance to heat

Overheating very quickly, even when it is only slightly warm

Hard time cooling down, with little relief even from cold showers

Hot flushing in the face, hands, and thighs

Prickling or “heat-sting” sensations across the body in warm environments

Neurological/ Circulatory Symptoms

• Dizziness or feeling like I’m going to faint when exposed to heat

Blurry vision during heat exposure

High levels of daytime sleepiness and exhaustion

Headache Characteristics

• Intense, throbbing headaches

• Triggered specifically by heat (sunlight, warm rooms, heaters)

No improvement with paracetamol

No improvement with aceclofenac

Relief found with aspirin

Headaches respond better to cooling down than to pain medication

I can’t believe an AI helped me when actual doctors couldn’t. I’m heading to a doctor tomorrow with these test results.

I’m B12 deficient too and I also stopped sweating! I tried to find a connection online but couldn’t. Did the AI provide a source for that link?

You need injections every other day immediately. Check the guide. Ensure you’re taking enough cofactors.

You aren’t alone! I’ve dealt with exhaustion, skin issues, anxiety, depressive symptoms, insomnia, focus issues, and anhedonia—a massive list of symptoms that I saw my GP for many times. In 2022, my B12 was 253, and last year it was 247. My GP just said to ‘maybe try a B12 complex’ because it ‘might be a little low.’ I did that, but nothing changed. They didn’t consider that a ‘low level’ and saw no reason to give me a real dosage plan. Last year I turned to ChatGPT to figure out a path forward since my doctor’s response hadn’t changed, but I refused to give up. Now I take 1000 mcg of B12 drops every morning and wow—except for a bit of fatigue and anhedonia, my symptoms are either gone or much better. Using ChatGPT to log my progress was essential because I might have quit when things got worse before they got better. It’s been such a relief!

It’s honestly a shame, but not surprising. My IBS was ignored by half a dozen doctors; I got no real help, just meds that made it worse. Facebook groups for low FODMAP testing were my eventual cure after 15 years of pain.

You mentioned the hot flashes—what were they like for you? I get them as well, but I’ve been blaming post-menopause for those.

The medical industry is just a business strategy. There isn’t even a truly reliable blood test for B12, yet doctors will tell you everything is fine. You have to run your own labs and track your own mineral and nutrient levels. Don’t support a profit-driven medical business that hides your health problems from you.

I did a hair analysis that revealed all my deficiencies. Doctors were just running useless tests that showed nothing was wrong, making money off me while my health declined.

It isn’t rocket science—it’s barely science. They just manipulate test levels to justify the pharmaceutical drugs they want to sell. Right before statins were released, they dropped the ‘acceptable’ cholesterol level from 300 to 200. I feel terrible for people on statins because doctors don’t tell them to take COQ 10, so their brains literally shrink. It’s just one drug after another. I’m glad pharmaceutical ads will be off the TV soon. The medical business is what created this chronic health epidemic.
