Hi everyone dealing with this! My right eye’s vision began deteriorating rapidly a few weeks back. I visited an eye clinic within a week, where I was diagnosed with Blepharitis instead of a retinal tear or detachment. I’ve been strictly following the prescribed routine—warm compresses, lid wipes, drops, and massages. Despite doing this consistently for several weeks, I haven’t seen any progress (though it hasn’t declined further). Working has become quite difficult. The doctors explained that my tear film is compromised, causing moisture to evaporate too fast. Since blurry vision isn’t the most common Blepharitis symptom, has anyone else dealt with this? If so, how long did it take for your sight to return to normal, if it did at all?
Recovery is a slow process. It can feel incredibly sluggish at times, but you’ll eventually see things get better. Taking Omega-3 supplements can also be beneficial.
I could be mistaken, but I believe blurred vision caused by blepharitis warrants an urgent medical consultation. You should probably give your doctor a call at the very least.
I struggled with this for several months, with some days being tougher than others. Obtaining prescription drops, like steroids, was the only thing that truly made a difference for me.
Doxycycline was what finally worked for me, alongside all the standard treatments. I’m hoping to try Xdemvy once it hits the European market because my eyes are still quite dry, though it’s manageable now.
If your issue stems from a poor tear film like mine did, I’d suggest looking into Ziena glasses. I saved up for a pair and they’ve been life-changing; I haven’t had a flare-up in four months. While reviews are varied, they worked perfectly for my situation.
I deal with both MGD and blepharitis and have experienced blurring. Using warm compresses and daily allergy drops has made me feel much better. My actual eyesight is fine, it just gets hazy!
Happy to hear you’ve found a solution!
I’m going through the exact same thing right now and feeling quite anxious. Could you share an update on how you’re doing now?
