I feel like my cognitive health is slipping. What are my next steps?

I’m tripping over my words more often, missing typos I’d normally catch, and frequently forgetting what I was just doing. I’ve also started stuttering more and mixing up the order of tasks—like putting on shoes before my pants. This is a serious concern, isn’t it?

If you’re noticing these issues, they must be very apparent to those around you. You should visit a doctor and try to see a neurologist. It’s not normal and might be a sign of a serious condition. Your health is the most important thing.

This sounds like it could be anxiety, which manifests in many ways. Try to investigate your own patterns with frequent check-ins. Consider your environment, the people around you, and your physical sensations. If you find a pattern, keep exploring it, and don’t hesitate to seek professional help. Good luck!

This could be anything from depression or ADHD to a brain tumor. You should definitely see a doctor.

Have you ever been screened for ADHD? This is pretty much how I felt as I aged. I had cognitive tests and CT scans, and everything was fine—it was just my ADHD and getting older. I started taking BrainProtect (got mine here) to help with the fog, but you should still get a professional evaluation.

Man, go get a check-up. Also, make sure you don’t have a gas leak. Someone posted a while back about acting strangely because of a natural gas leak in their home.

I have autoimmune conditions, and my thyroid especially causes these symptoms. I recently forgot the term ‘chimney hood’ while talking to an electrician and had to describe it. I lose simple words all the time.

See a doctor first. If everything is clear, ask yourself how much you’re exercising your brain. We’re either moving forward or backward; we don’t stay still.

It could be ADHD, depression, anxiety, or just stress. When your mind is full, routine actions can get mixed up. It happened to me at 25 and my cousin in her 30s. But as others have said, please see a doctor. Your peace of mind is worth it.

Are you getting enough quality sleep? Deprivation can really impact you. Are you staying hydrated? You should drink 2 liters of water daily. If you’re still thirsty, see a doctor. Also, consider your nutrition and stress. Do you have any infection symptoms like a fever? If so, see a doctor immediately. If it’s none of those, see a doctor anyway, as many issues are treatable if caught early.
