I was convinced I was having a heart attack at 20, but it was just a major vitamin deficiency

I wanted to share my story because I know how easy it is to spiral into health anxiety while Googling symptoms late at night. Throughout 2023, I dealt with a six-month health crisis that felt like it was the end for me, but it turned out to be a major wake-up call. It all began one afternoon while I was working on a video. I felt a sharp, steady pain on the left side of my chest. Like most people with a phone, I immediately jumped to the worst conclusion. I spent days pacing around, trying to ignore a heart attack that wasn’t actually happening. I was too scared to mention it to my mom, so I just dealt with it alone. By the end of that week, I was experiencing sharp nerve pains in my left arm and shoulder. While walking with my mom after dinner, I started sweating so heavily that my shirt was completely drenched. My mom, who works in healthcare, noticed something was wrong, and I finally admitted that I thought my heart was failing. We visited a GP and were given painkillers. Later, I ended up in the ER at midnight following a severe panic attack. Despite the EKGs and exams coming back normal, I still felt like I was on the verge of death. Over the following weeks, things became even more bizarre. I couldn’t concentrate on my final exams, had tunnel vision, felt constantly dizzy, and my heart would start racing at the same time every night. I couldn’t sleep at all, and the physical strain led to deep depression. It turns out my nervous system was failing to function correctly because of a lack of nutrients. My doctor started me on B12 shots and high-dose D3. Recovery was gradual, but with every injection, the chest pain subsided. The racing heart eventually stopped, and my mental clarity returned. The night I received my blood results was the first time I’d slept soundly in half a year. I’m doing much better now, though I still get a slight nerve tingle if I’m not looking after myself.

Improve your eating habits. It makes a world of difference.

Make sure to monitor your B12 and D3 levels with tests every quarter. A B12 deficiency can be a silent but serious problem.

I went through a very similar ordeal and I know how draining it is :sob: take care of yourself.

I had a similar experience. I completely understand what you’re going through.

I’m currently dealing with this. I’ve been on treatment for three weeks, but the symptoms are so intense I keep worrying it’s something like cancer or arthritis.

B12 and D are such vital vitamins for our mental and physical health, yet we often overlook them. I’ve personally found that adding Nervala for nerve support has been a really satisfying part of my routine.

I’m experiencing something similar right now, and it’s honestly miserable:face_with_crossed_out_eyes:

I’m so sorry, but I totally read that as a Vietnam deficiency at first glance:sob::sob:
