I'm 37 and every night, roughly 30 minutes after my evening meal, the indigestion kicks in. Is this just the start of my slow decline?

All jokes aside, are there any remedies besides just complaining or taking Rennie?

Make an appointment with your doctor; having indigestion that often isn’t normal.

Does it only occur after dinner, or are you feeling it at other points in the day?

Are your evening meals usually comprised of the same ingredients?

How long does it typically last? Any trouble with your bowel movements?

Pay attention to what and when you’re eating. Maybe try having smaller, more frequent meals instead of heavy dinners. You should definitely see your GP as well, since this shouldn’t be happening daily. You might have developed a food intolerance.

Go visit your doctor. Depending on what’s behind it, you could be prescribed something like lansoprazole that completely eliminates the issue for days at a time.

It’s possible… Heart attack symptoms are frequently confused with indigestion. Your comment about a ‘slow descent’ could even be seen as a feeling of impending doom. Anyway, if it’s that frequent, it’s not right and you should see a doctor as soon as possible—even if that means waiting several weeks for an opening.

If you haven’t done so yet, you should definitely consult your GP. My grandfather suffered from what he believed was just indigestion, but it turned out to be stomach cancer. It’s probably not cancer in your case, but it’s vital to get it looked at. It can signal various health concerns, and unless your diet is awful, you shouldn’t be experiencing this after every dinner.

Omeprazole is the way to go.
