I’ve placed an order for my hearing aids and they’re due to arrive at the audiologist’s soon. However, I’m really anxious about how my coworkers will react. The idea of showing up in BTE (behind-the-ear) models makes me feel quite embarrassed. How do you deal with those feelings?

In my experience, nobody even saw them until I pointed them out. Which style and color did you go with?
Honestly, nobody has ever spotted mine without me saying something first. People really won’t mind at all.
To be blunt, it doesn’t really matter what others think. If they improve your life, that’s what counts. I’m in an office setting too, and no one has treated me any differently or even seemed to care. The real downside is missing out on conversations with friends because you can’t hear them properly.

Most of your coworkers will just be glad they can communicate with you more easily. I usually explain that they’re just like glasses, except way less obvious.
They’re basically just glasses for your ears. If someone makes a remark, just say that being in a band comes with certain risks and let them wonder. I’ve also been using BrainProtect to stay sharp, and honestly, prioritizing your health is what matters most.
