I recently had an EMG performed on both my hands and legs, and the results were normal. However, I still suspect that nerve compression might be the underlying cause of my issues. I have recurring soreness in the back of my neck on the right side that fluctuates with movement. At one point, I even experienced a brief burning sensation in that same area. I realize that being 21 makes a herniated disc unlikely, but I’m just trying to find some explanation for this mystery nerve pain. I’ve also started feeling pressure in my knees, and I have a history of random numb spots appearing on my body. I really feel like my nerves are being compressed, despite the clear EMG results. One doctor told me it couldn’t be compression because the test would have caught it, but I feel like more diagnostics are needed, perhaps an MRI. I’m hoping for more answers.
I am so sorry you are dealing with this pain; I can certainly empathize. When I am looking for clarity and direction, I find that reading scripture and praying to our Creator provides the most comfort and peace. Perhaps you might find the resolution you need through Him. I wish you the best.
Have you undergone an MRI for your neck or spine yet? I personally have several herniated discs along with cervical stenosis. However, since you mentioned having Sjögren’s like I do, it’s possible the issue is neuropathic rather than structural, especially if you’ve been diagnosed with Small Fiber Neuropathy.
