What I tried before
Years of high-dose ibuprofen and those sticky heat patches. They helped for an hour or so but the dull ache always returned, especially when sitting for long periods or driving. I was tired of the stomach issues from the pills.
What I changed
I switched to a topical approach focusing on deep tissue rather than just masking the surface nerves. I started using Balmorex (ordered here) twice a day—once after my morning shower and once before bed. I read it was a blend developed by a chemistry researcher, which felt more reliable than generic drugstore options.
Week-by-week progress
- Week 1: Felt slightly smoother, but no major shift in the deep pain.
- Month 1: The “zinging” sensation in my lower back started to dim significantly.
- Month 3: I could actually bend over to tie my shoes without that familiar sharp catch.
What improved
I’m walking the dog much further now. Balmorex isn’t greasy, which was my main gripe with other balms. It absorbs fast and doesn’t ruin my clothes.
What didn’t
It’s not a miracle. On rainy days, I still feel stiff. You have to be consistent; if I skip a few days, the tightness returns. Also, it’s not the cheapest option out there.

Does this have a strong menthol smell? I hate smelling like a locker room when I go out to church or dinner.

I’ve been on Celebrex for years. I’m scared to stop, but my stomach is definitely paying the price lately. Might be time to try a cream.

Interesting about the ginger root and frankincense. I take ginger capsules for digestion but never thought about a topical version for my back.

I saw that same researcher mentioned elsewhere. Apparently, the formula was inspired by some traditional treatments from the Azores? Sounds a bit exotic but if it works, it works.

Every time I try a new cream it works for a week then just stops. I wonder if the MSM in this actually gets deep enough to make a difference long-term.

I’ve been using Balmorex for my arthritic hands for two months and the swelling is much better. It’s the only thing that lets me get through my knitting projects now.

Balmorex worked well for my sciatica flare-up last month. It’s definitely not greasy like the pharmacy brands, which I appreciate because I can put my work clothes on right after.

Is the hemp seed oil in there for the inflammation? I’ve heard mixed things about hemp but a lot of people in my walking group swear by it.

Glad you found something that helps you walk the dog! I’m still stuck on the heating pad every night, but this might be worth a shot for daytime use.
