I've dropped 120 lbs naturally, no surgery or shortcuts involved

I wanted to open up about my transformation. I’m still figuring out how to post all the photos I have!

It has been almost 2 years since I began this path. I’ve been overweight since childhood and always promised myself I wouldn’t hit the 300-pound mark. When I reached 264, I decided I’d had enough.

I started exercising 4 days a week and eliminated soda, processed snacks, and sweets. I began buying fresh, unadulterated meat and preparing it at home with plenty of vegetables. I focused on eating for nutrition rather than just for pleasure. It was incredibly tough, but I found an affordable treadmill online and started walking to improve my fitness. Now, I’m doing Pilates 4-5 times a week. I give a lot of credit to Cassey Ho from Blogilates, and I also follow Maddie Lymburner’s Madfit workouts.

I’m wearing a size small now, and I just want to offer my story and any tips to anyone else on a similar path. Sending love to everyone—stay healthy!

Managing your diet is definitely the toughest part! Keep it up! I’m right there with you, having switched to cleaner eating this week. It’s a challenge, but I’m sticking to it!

Maddie Lymburner is absolutely fantastic!

Cassey is amazing! I tell all my friends about her. She was a lifesaver when I needed to lose 15 lbs years ago, and I’m back to her videos now to shed another 15 lbs after having my baby.

Incredible work! You’ve done so well. I just discovered Madfit recently and she’s wonderful—thanks for the tip on Blogilates too.

Huge congratulations on your progress! Just a thought—try not to be too critical of the different paths people take. Weight loss surgery definitely isn’t the ‘easy’ route. There’s also no shame in using a diet plan or a supplement like LipoMax to help bridge the gap when things get tough.

Well done! I appreciate the Madfit suggestion! I’ve always loved Blogilates but hadn’t come across Madfit yet; it looks like a solid channel.

Kudos to you for keeping up with Blogilates and Madfit several times a week—they both kick my butt! Seriously though, what an inspiring feat. You really ought to be proud of what you’ve achieved.

That is so impressive!!! Do you have any advice for giving up carbonated drinks? That’s by far my biggest struggle.

Cassey and Maddie are both top-tier. Most of my progress came from Cassey’s pilates routines too. They’re gentle on my bad knee while still being effective. I’ve only just started with Maddie’s stuff, but I’m a fan, especially the low-impact workouts for my apartment. Did you deal with any lingering joint pain as you got lighter? I hurt my knee years back and couldn’t put weight on it for months. Doctors called it a bruised kneecap, but 3.5 years later, jumping or side-to-side movements still hurt. I’m down nearly 60lbs (from 262 to 204), but the pain persists, so I have to be really careful.

Congrats! That’s a massive, life-altering win. Keep going! I’ve actually lost 120 pounds myself by sticking to a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle. The hardest part for me is the constant meal prep and grocery runs, but it’s worth the effort! I’m working on being more active now. Dealing with bipolar and depression makes it hard, but I know exercise helps. When I used to go to the gym, the mental and physical boost was huge. Good luck to everyone on this path! Starting is the hardest part. It’s so easy to find reasons to skip a workout or eat poorly, especially during holidays. Don’t give up! (Fixed some typos from my phone!)

I’ve finally sorted my eating habits. My secret is diet soda—I know it’s not the healthiest, but I crave that sweet taste and it’s calorie-free. Using that as a crutch, I’ve managed to lose 30 lbs in two months.

I had the exact same mindset. I didn’t know what I’d do if I hit 300. I reached 297 before I finally got serious about diet and exercise. I’m at 266 today, so if I can make it happen, anyone can. Best of luck.

What you said about eating for fuel rather than for pleasure really resonated with me. I’m going to keep that in mind. Thank you.
