Hello all, I’m a newcomer and have been trying to absorb as much information as possible. I retired this past November. Right now, I have a 20% rating for bilateral tinea pedis and tinnitus. My service history includes 4 years as a Navy diesel mechanic and the remainder as an Air Force C17 Crew Chief. My current medical diagnoses include lower back DDD with bilateral sciatica (numbness/tingling) supported by x-rays, neck DDD with bilateral numbness/tingling also with x-rays, a torn meniscus in my right knee that needs surgery (MRI confirmed), obstructive sleep apnea, and migraines with tracking logs. As I get my claims ready, does anyone have advice on what else I should include or how to make the process smoother? I haven’t been able to focus on this until now because of a recent move to a different state. Thank you!
What was the process for getting a 10% rating for tinea pedis? I’m currently at 0% and am thinking about applying for an increase.
I recently filed a claim with the help of a VSO and it was successful. If you need a diagnosis first, I’d suggest seeing a VA physician. Once that’s documented, you can start drafting your claim yourself or have a VSO assist you with the writing and submission process.
