My nightly routine for clearing up toes

I’ve spent the last three years basically living in socks.

Even in the middle of summer, I was too embarrassed to wear flip-flops or go to the pool because of how yellow and crumbly my big toenail had become. It started after a gym shower incident and just wouldn’t go away. I tried everything from the standard pharmacy creams to soaking my feet in apple cider vinegar every night. The tea tree oil I used for months just made my skin peel without actually touching the fungus under the nail. It was incredibly frustrating and honestly made me feel a bit gross whenever I had to take my shoes off.

About four months ago, I decided to try a different approach and started using Kerassentials Serum (i buy here - usually best price) after seeing a few people talk about it in a different group. I was skeptical because I’d been burned before, but the blend of oils seemed like it might actually penetrate better than the thick pastes I was used to. I started applying it twice a day after my shower. The first thing I noticed was that it didn’t dry out my skin like the vinegar did; it actually seemed to improve the skin resistance to the usual irritation I get between my toes.

By the end of the first month, the new growth at the base of the nail looked clear. It wasn’t an overnight fix, but for the first time, the progress didn’t stall. I think the reason it worked better for me is that it supports the health of the surrounding skin while fighting the fungus, so the whole area just feels stronger. I’m finally at a point where I don’t feel the need to hide my feet. Of course, consistency is key with this stuff—you can’t just skip days and expect it to work. It’s also a good idea to keep your shoes dry and change socks often, but this serum was the missing piece for me.

Glad you are seeing results. It is such a slow process and so many people give up too early.

Did you have to file the nail down at all before applying it? I find that helps the oils get in there better.

I’ve been using Kerassentials Serum for about six weeks now and the yellowing is almost gone. Best thing I’ve tried so far.

How did you decide on this vs the medicated lacquers? Did you try the paint-on stuff from the doctor first?

I’m always a bit wary of oil blends because some can be greasy, but I might have to look into this one.

Kerassentials Serum worked for my athlete’s foot too. The itching stopped within a few days which was a huge relief for me.

Make sure you guys are bleaching your shower floor too or you will just keep reinfecting yourself every morning.

Does it have a strong scent? Some of the tea tree stuff is way too overpowering to wear to work.

Thanks for the detailed breakdown, very helpful to see a timeline.

Can confirm, Kerassentials Serum is solid. My nails actually feel hydrated instead of brittle and flaky now.

Did it stain your socks at all? I am worried about the oil leaving marks on my gym gear.

Replying to Jim_D_77—I did try the medicated lacquer for a while, but it created this weird thick layer that was hard to remove. I preferred Kerassentials Serum because it actually absorbed into the nail bed and didn’t feel like I was just painting over the problem. It felt more like it was treating the skin and nail together.
