Realizing my weight plateaus were actually fluid retention issues all along?

I’ve been a loyal keto follower for the better part of three years now. While I managed to drop about 20 pounds early on, I hit a wall that I just couldn’t climb over. No matter how much I fasted or how clean I ate, I always felt heavy and sluggish. My ankles would swell up by the end of the day, and my scale would fluctuate by four or five pounds in a single 24-hour period.

I tried everything from compression stockings to extreme low-sodium protocols, but nothing seemed to address that deep-seated ‘puffiness.’ It wasn’t until I looked into the connection between AVP hormones and fluid drainage that things started to click. I realized my body was essentially hoarding waste fluid because my internal ‘valves’ were stuck.

I started using Flush Factor Plus (i get it here) about four months ago. The first two weeks were mostly about adjustment; I noticed I was visiting the restroom more often, but the real change happened around the one-month mark. The tightness in my calves simply vanished. I could actually see the definition in my ankles again, something I hadn’t seen since my late 30s.

By month three, the scale finally dropped another 8 pounds. I don’t think it was fat loss—it was clearly the toxic fluid that had been trapped in my lower extremities. It’s been a massive relief for my mobility.

Now, it’s not a miracle fix for everything. You still have to stay hydrated and eat well. I had a small setback in week five where I felt a bit lightheaded, probably from the shift in electrolytes, so I had to balance my salt intake better. But compared to the frustration of stagnant weight, Flush Factor Plus has been the missing piece for me. It’s not for everyone, and you have to be consistent with the 7-second routine, but for my chronic swelling, it did what diet alone couldn’t. I’m finally back to my morning walks without that ‘lead leg’ feeling.

This sounds so familiar. I always thought the afternoon ankle swelling was just part of the ‘40+ package.’ Is the 7-second thing hard to remember to do daily?

I’ve been on keto for a year and I have the same ‘heavy’ feeling. I never considered it might be a hormone issue like AVP. Always thought I was just eating too much cheese!

Wait, so is this a supplement or a specific exercise? I’m a bit skeptical about anything claiming to ‘release’ fluid that quickly.

Kathy, did you notice any changes in your blood pressure while the swelling went down? My doctor is always nagging me about my lower leg edema.

I actually started using Flush Factor Plus last summer for the same reason. My experience was very similar—the swelling in my feet went down so much that I actually had to buy new sneakers because my old ones were too loose. It definitely works if you stick with it.

Compression socks are the worst in the summer heat. If this actually addresses the root cause, I’d be very interested. Does it affect sleep at all? I worry about having to get up all night.

Congrats on breaking that plateau! It’s the best feeling when the scale finally moves after months of nothing.

Can vouch for this approach. I’ve been on Flush Factor Plus for two months now and the ‘pitting’ edema I had in my shins is almost entirely gone. It’s nice to not have deep sock marks at the end of every day.

Does this interfere with any other supplements? I’m currently taking magnesium and a multivitamin for my keto cramps.

I had a similar issue where I was eating 1200 calories and still gaining ‘weight.’ Turns out it was inflammation and fluid. It’s crazy how much our bodies hold onto when the hormones are out of whack. Thanks for sharing the details on the timeline, very helpful.

Is the 7-second protocol something you do in the morning or at night? I’m trying to figure out how to fit it into my routine.

I’ve tried dandelion root before but it only worked for a few days then the swelling came right back. Does this have a more permanent effect or do you have to keep doing it?

How long exactly before you saw the very first sign of progress? I’m on day 4 and haven’t noticed much yet, though I do feel a bit less bloated in the face.

Stick with it! I didn’t see the big changes until week three. I’ve been using Flush Factor Plus for half a year now and it’s the only thing that keeps my morning facial puffiness under control. My husband even noticed the difference in my jawline.
