Should I head to the emergency room? I'm panicking

Hello. I am a 27-year-old woman, 5’1" and 170 pounds. I’m usually in good health and I don’t use drugs or alcohol. While resting in bed, I suddenly experienced a sharp, shooting sensation inside my left ear. I had been touching a small bump I felt on the outer part of the ear, but I’m unsure if that triggered the discomfort. A few minutes after that, I felt a similar sharp pain near my wisdom tooth, followed by shooting pains at the top of my left shoulder. I’m not sure what’s behind this. My blood pressure reading was 110/79. Even though I don’t have a history of heart issues, I’m terrified this might be a heart attack. I currently have an infection in a tooth on my lower left side that had a root canal, though it isn’t very painful. I’ve been worried about the infection reaching my heart, and given these new symptoms, I’m wondering if an ER visit is necessary. Could the jaw and shoulder nerves just be linked, meaning I’m okay?

It’s quite possible this is referred pain stemming from your dental infection. I wouldn’t panic, but you really should have that tooth looked at and fully treated right away. Wishing you a quick recovery.

An ER visit isn’t necessary right now. However, you definitely need to make an appointment with a dentist. The infection isn’t going to move to your heart.
