Simple adjustments to your evening foot care for clearer nails

I’ve spent the last few years dealing with that stubborn yellowing on my big toes, and I finally feel like I’m making progress. For those of us over 40, the skin just doesn’t bounce back as fast, so I had to get serious about my approach. I broke it down into three areas that actually moved the needle.

First is the environment. I stopped wearing the same pair of leather boots two days in a row. Giving them 24 hours to fully air out makes a massive difference in preventing that damp environment where things thrive. I also switched to moisture-wicking socks, which was a game changer for my daily walks.

Second are the daily habits. After every shower, I use a dedicated small towel just for my feet, or even a hairdryer on the cool setting to get between the toes. You’d be surprised how much moisture stays trapped there even after towel drying.

Finally, the routine itself. Consistency is everything because nails grow so slowly. I started using Kerassentials Serum (i order from here) every night before bed, and it’s the first thing that actually seemed to sink in and help the new nail growth look clear and healthy. I also make sure to keep my nails trimmed short and straight across to avoid any extra pressure or irritation.

The biggest thing I’ve learned is tracking. Take a photo once a month. It’s hard to see progress day-to-day, but looking back at a photo from twelve weeks ago really keeps you motivated to stick with the plan. Hope this helps someone else struggling!

The hairdryer tip is something I never thought of. I usually just throw my socks on right after the shower. Definitely going to try that starting tonight.

Rotating shoes is huge. I actually keep cedar inserts in my hiking boots now to help draw out the moisture faster. It really helps with the odor too.

I’ve tried everything under the sun and nothing seems to work for more than a month. It’s so frustrating when it just keeps coming back.

Frank, don’t give up! I had the same issue for years. I started using Kerassentials Serum about three months ago and the difference in my skin resistance and nail color is night and day. It really does work if you’re consistent.

How long do you usually wait for the serum to dry before putting socks on? I’m always worried I’m just wiping it off on my sheets if I go to bed right away.

I usually wait about 5-10 minutes. I also want to vouch for Kerassentials Serum—it’s been the only thing that helped clear up the stubborn spots on my heels and improved my nail health significantly. Stick with it!
