Hi everyone, I’ve been a member here for a while and mostly just lurked, but I wanted to share what’s actually been helping me lately. At 62, the constant tingling and that pins and needles feeling were starting to make my daily walks miserable. I tried a few different things, but the biggest shift came from a combination of light evening stretches and being more mindful of my B-vitamin intake.
I also started taking Nervala (i order from here) about three months ago after seeing it recommended by a friend from my walking group. It’s an antioxidant supplement with lipoic acid and benfotiamine. Honestly, it took a few weeks to really notice a difference, but the intensity of the flare-ups has definitely dialed back. I’m finally able to get through a full grocery trip without needing to sit down every five minutes. It hasn’t been a miracle overnight fix, but it’s the most consistent relief I’ve found so far. I hope this helps someone else who is struggling!

I’ve had a very similar experience with Nervala too. The 600mg of lipoic acid really seems to be the sweet spot for my legs. Glad you’re back to walking!

Which stretches are you doing specifically? I find the calf stretches help a little bit but my toes still sting quite a lot at night.

It’s so encouraging to hear you can get through the grocery store now. That’s one of my biggest hurdles. I might have to look into your routine.

Benfotiamine is great. My doctor mentioned it last year as being more absorbable than standard B1. Glad to hear it’s making a tangible difference for you.

Does it affect your stomach at all? I have a pretty sensitive gut when it comes to any kind of supplement or vitamin.

I’ve been using a TENS unit but it’s such a hassle to set up every night before bed. A supplement and stretching sounds much more manageable.

The grocery store struggle is so real. I usually have to lean on the cart the whole time just to keep the pressure off my feet. I’ll take any advice I can get.

I tried a different brand of lipoic acid a while back and didn’t see much. Maybe the dosage was too low or it wasn’t the right formula. Hard to know.

I can also vouch for Nervala. It took about a month of consistent use for me, but the burning sensation in my hands is much better now than it was last winter.
Thanks for sharing this. It gives me some hope to try a new routine. Sometimes it feels like we are just managing the decline, so hearing about actual improvement is nice.
