Skincare for aging that genuinely worked for you in your 30s

I’ve experimented with a ton of anti-aging stuff and I’m wondering which ones actually made a difference? I’d love to know what really works…

Tretinoin and the skin flooding technique.

Stratia Rewind—it really does firm the skin. I’d used it for ages, but then I went on a month-long trip and forgot it. For the first few weeks, I looked fine and wondered if I even needed it, but by the middle of the third week, my face suddenly looked like it was sagging under gravity. Once I started using it again, things tightened back up fast.

I had a faint ‘11’ line starting, but now it’s invisible unless I’m frowning. I’ve used 0.05% tretinoin and tried microneedling. I think the tretinoin did most of the work because I’m more regular with it, though it might be a combination of the two!

Botox, tretinoin, and SPF.

Retinal and AHA. Basically anything that aids in exfoliation and cell turnover. I’ve switched to tretinoin now to deal with some persistent congestion.

In my opinion, retinal is the top choice for treating sun damage and photoaging.

Tazarotene combined with sunscreen. Both my colleague and the doctor who gave me Botox for migraines (my first time getting it) mentioned how amazing my skin looked after I began using Taz!

I’m currently breastfeeding, so I’m staying away from retinol. Instead, I’ve been using Timeless Vitamin C in the AM and Cos De Baha Azelaic Acid at night. I’m also drinking tons of water and avoiding sugar. My skin hasn’t looked this good in ages.

Using red light therapy at home every day has improved my skin’s health and look more than any cream or serum I’ve ever tried.

Red light therapy! Use a panel instead of a mask though—it’s much more effective.

Staying hydrated and getting quality sleep. For eye creams, I recommend Shiseido Benefiance or Clarins Total Eye Lift. I also use eye patches occasionally, specifically from Summer Fridays or Abib.
