I was holding chocolate milk in one hand and my phone and AirPods in the other, intending to set the drink on my nightstand. I spent about three seconds staring at my hands trying to figure out which was which, then proceeded to toss the chocolate milk onto the bed rather than my phone.
I have so many stories, we’d be here forever…
It was a wild series of mishaps: I stashed my hat in the freezer and left my ice cream in the sink before heading to bed. The next day, I was looking for my hat to head out. I spotted the melted ice cream in the sink and thought, “Surely I didn’t put my hat in the freezer…” but that’s exactly where it was.
I ended up putting fresh razors in the refrigerator and accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet lol
I was getting ready to have some coffee, opened a packet of sugar, and then just dumped it right onto the table next to the mug.
I finished my whole burger and then turned to my girlfriend to ask if she was the one who ate it ![]()
I actually forgot to end things with my ex. When he showed up at my house, I was baffled because I really thought I’d already broken up with him, so I just made dinner. I didn’t even eat it, and he didn’t lift a finger to help clean. He was a total jerk and we weren’t right for each other, but man, how do you forget to break up with someone!?
I spent five minutes chatting with a stack of pillows because I was convinced they were my dog.
At times I feel like I’m simultaneously intoxicated and suffering from memory loss; I get so uncoordinated and trying to hide it just makes it more obvious. I often just stop talking mid-sentence because I’m too exhausted to keep straining my brain or wasting the other person’s time.
I accidentally sent my kid to daycare with a big block of cheddar cheese because I grabbed the wrong identical container instead of the sandwich I’d made.
I once attempted to shut off the bathroom lights by twisting the sink faucet. Another time, I tried flushing the toilet using the light switch. I’ve tossed my phone into the bin instead of the actual trash I was holding. I once said “I’m a salmon” instead of “I’m assuming,” and I’ve even typed “eye am doing something” when I meant “I am.”
I completely blanked on how to get rid of liquids. I was trying to swap out the cat’s water and started double-bagging the trash can to pour it in there until my partner asked what on earth I was doing and told me to just use the sink.
I’d share some stories, but I’ve forgotten them all ![]()

Technically it was aphasia rather than brain fog. I messaged my boss about a migraine, and the following day he asked why I was texting in Klingon. I recalled what I wrote, and the structure was right—13 words with the correct letter counts—but every single letter was wrong. It looked like: Hsimd fksisen pyrdle njdhsbao
