I have been dealing with a nasty fungal infection on my right foot for over five years.
It started small but eventually made my big toe nail thick and brittle. I tried the usual drug store creams and even soaked my feet in apple cider vinegar every night for months. I even went the prescription route with a lacquer my doctor gave me, but it was so messy and never seemed to penetrate deep enough to actually change the color of the nail.
About four months ago, I changed my approach and started using Kerassentials Serum (usually discouted here) twice a day after my shower. What I liked about this was how it felt like it was actually moisturizing the skin while fighting the infection. Within six weeks, I noticed the new growth at the base of the nail was clear and pink instead of yellow. It uses a blend of oils that seems to strengthen the skin barrier while it works, which stopped the surrounding skin from getting that dry, cracked look I usually get with treatments.
It definitely takes patience—you can’t skip days—and I still keep my feet dry and wear fresh socks constantly. But seeing real progress after years of failed attempts is such a relief. Just remember that everyone reacts differently, so check with your podiatrist if you’re unsure.

I’ve been using Kerassentials Serum for three weeks now and the itching is finally gone.

Did you ever try those tea tree oil pens? I’m wondering if this is more effective than the generic stuff.

The Kerassentials Serum definitely helped my nails look less chalky. It takes time but it’s worth it.

How long did you wait for your feet to dry before putting socks on?

Vicks VapoRub actually worked for me, but it was so greasy and got all over my sheets.
Does it have a strong smell?
It’s mostly herbal, not too bad compared to some of the chemical ones I have used in the past.
I’ve tried so many things, I’m starting to think my nails will just be like this forever. It’s so discouraging.
Don’t give up! It took me a year to see full clear growth. Consistency is literally the only way.

I did try the tea tree pens but they were too drying for my cuticles. The Kerassentials Serum felt way more nourishing and didn’t make my skin peel off like the generic pens did.

Make sure you trim the dead nail back as much as possible so the stuff can get in there. That was the game changer for me.

Where do you usually buy it? I want to make sure I get the real version.
Glad to see someone else mentioned Kerassentials Serum, it’s the only thing that stopped my athlete’s foot from coming back every summer.

Thanks for sharing the routine, definitely going to try the shower-then-apply method starting tonight.
