I don’t know if everyone experiences it the same way, but I personally get these intense ‘stabbing’ sensations that only last a moment before disappearing and then popping up again later. It can also feel like a burning sensation, and the level of pain really fluctuates. I’m interested in hearing how you all would describe what you’re going through!
If I skip my gabapentin, the burning comes back. Even with the meds, I still have some numbness and the occasional prickling, especially in the evening.
Mine feels like an incredibly intense, freezing cold.
Tingling, like my legs fell asleep and are waking up. Or a cold burn. I’ve been trying Nervala to see if it helps with the intensity.
Like walking on shards of glass. One minute it’s fire, the next it’s ice. It’s just awful.
Like fire-breathing rats are gnawing on me.
I feel like I’m gathering every variety of nerve pain possible. I get the sharp stabs (those were my first symptom and happen most often), burning, electric shocks like a rubber band snap, and a really disturbing one that feels like my actual bones are snapping. Then there are the non-painful but creepy feelings, like water dripping on me or walking through cobwebs. My body is just constantly lying to me in the worst ways.
Like fire ants crawling inside and stinging. It also flips between being icy and burning hot. Mine began gradually just like yours did. Wishing you the best!
When it first began, I had those exact same pains, just random and all over. Some felt like stabs, others like burns. I still have them, just not as often now. I have numbness in various spots and a light burning sensation, kind of like a bad sunburn. My arms are the worst—they always feel tingly and slightly numb, like a mild burn.
For me, it feels like my feet are simultaneously frozen and on fire.
It feels like my legs are screaming. As if my bones have turned into blades.
Neuropathy is such a bizarre thing. I describe it as: freezing burns, electric jolts or buzzing, sharp shooting sensations, numbness, and extreme tingling. None of it is pleasant.
