I’m considering a new pair soon and want to know about battery performance. Since most modern versions use rechargeables, I’m wondering if they actually hold up for an entire day under regular conditions, particularly when using Bluetooth for calls or music. I’d love to hear about your personal experiences with rechargeable models.

My spouse uses her Phonaks to stream YouTube or lectures nearly all day, and they usually die around 9 or 10 PM. My Rextons, which I don’t use for streaming much, easily make it through the whole day without issues.

I get two days out of mine. With my Phonak Infinio Sphere 90s, I typically see 18 to 22 hours of battery life in standard settings, even with about 8 hours of streaming music or Teams meetings. I only ever have to charge during the day if I forget to plug in the case itself and it dies. I’ve used these for more than a year and the battery hasn’t weakened. I have earmolds for my severe to profound loss.
Here are a few benchmarks: Starkey Omega lasts up to 51 hours; Widex SmartRIC reaches 37 hours; Signia IX/Rexton Reach hits 36 hours; Oticon Intent goes for 20 hours; and Phonak Infinio Ultra lasts 30 hours, though noisy environments (Spheric mode) can drain it faster. In short, they definitely last a whole day, streaming included. Also, most have quick-charge features where 15 minutes gives you several hours of power.
With the Philips 9050, I consistently get 18 hours, including time spent on calls and streaming.
My Oticon Intent 1s last 18 hours and have never died on me. I use Bluetooth intermittently throughout the day, including for the TV. I usually have them in for 12 hours daily and always have some juice remaining.
My rechargeable Phonaks are five years old now. I plug them in every night, wear them from 7 in the morning until 10 at night, and they’ve never run out of battery during that window.
The only time I charge my ReSound Vivia 9s is overnight. I use them for 12 to 16 hours daily while staying in AI mode. Like many, I spend a lot of time streaming for Zoom meetings and such. They haven’t dropped below 25-50% yet, so I have zero battery anxiety. The 30-hour rating seems accurate based on my usage.
I use Oticon Intent 1s with heavy streaming. I put them on first thing in the morning and charge them 15-18 hours later at bedtime. I’ve never needed a midday boost.
