The Astaxanthin and Picotonic serums from Dr Melaxin are incredible when used together.

It’s not an Asian Beauty brand, but they produce the top sunscreen available (protects against ultra-long UVA) and this specific item comes in a purple bottle with a dropper. I’ve experimented with various brightening options like Melano CC and Cos De Baha’s azelaic acid, but this one outperformed them all.

I use green light therapy along with Cos De Baha’s 10% azelaic acid serum.

The azelaic acid serum by Nineless.

Melano CC managed to totally clear up some fairly dark PIE spots in just a couple of months for me!

I’ve been testing the new Numbuzin Glutathione TXA Advanced Dark Spot Ampoule Concentrate (quite a mouthful!) and I’m really impressed. It has a sulfur-like egg scent which isn’t ideal but manageable, and it clearly contains a high concentration of glutathione. After two weeks of daily morning use, my pink acne marks have faded noticeably, and it’s even calming my rosacea redness. Since I already apply prescription azelaic acid twice daily, seeing these extra results is really striking.

Sunscreen and prescription-strength retinol.

Combining Melano CC with Cos De Baha 5% Tranexamic Acid worked wonders on my persistent cystic acne marks in about two months. My mother, who usually only uses high-end brands like Lancôme or Estée Lauder, started using my Cos De Baha supply, and now we’re arguing over the final bottle. I can’t find it on Amazon or iHerb anymore, unfortunately.

The ultimate duo for me is 15% Azelaic Acid paired with a tinted mineral sunscreen containing iron oxides. Surprisingly, the sunscreen made the biggest difference. I also swear by three underrated ingredients: mulberry, galactomyces, and n-Acetyl glucosamine. Ectoin is another great one for spots. I use all four daily with great success. Astaxanthin also deserves a shout-out; it’s more effective than Vitamin C for brightening but difficult to track down. I use it in two products that both perform well. Examples include Mixsoon Galactomyces, The Ordinary’s Aloe + NAG, and Axis-Y’s Panthenol Cream.
