Why did my nail fungus keep returning?

I spent nearly two years trying to fix my yellowing big toe by throwing everything at the wall to see what stuck.

My biggest mistake was mixing too many treatments at once without any real consistency. I would do apple cider vinegar soaks for a week, then switch to messy OTC creams, then try tea tree oil when I got bored. Because I was constantly changing my routine and skipping days, the fungus just built up resistance and never actually went away. It was incredibly frustrating to see no progress after all that effort and money. Eventually, I realized I needed a single, dedicated approach that addressed both the infection and the skin health. I switched to using ProNail Complex (i get it here, discounted!) about four months ago and finally stopped the DIY experiments. Unlike the thick creams that just sat on top of my nail, this felt like it actually absorbed into the bed. It uses a mix of oils and vitamins that seemed to strengthen the nail as it grew out, rather than just drying it out. The yellowing is almost gone now, and the new growth looks clear. It isn’t an overnight miracle, and you still have to be diligent every single day, but the resistance to new infections feels much higher than before.

The inconsistency is what gets everyone. People stop the second they see a tiny bit of clear nail and then it just comes roaring back two weeks later.

Did the tea tree oil at least help with the smell? I tried it and it just made my socks smell like a pine forest but didn’t do much for the color.

How did you decide to stop the soaks and try something else? Did you look at other oils first?

I hope you also threw out your old gym shoes. If you don’t treat the shoes, you’re just putting your clean feet back into a fungus factory every morning.

I had a similar experience with the vinegar soaks doing nothing. I’ve been on ProNail Complex for two months and the texture of my nails is finally smoothing out.

Four months seems fast for a big toe nail. Usually they take like 9 to 12 months to fully grow out from the base. Are you filing them down too?

I just use the generic stuff from the pharmacy. It’s cheaper but you really have to be a drill sergeant about applying it twice a day.

Glad you found something that works. ProNail Complex has been a game changer for my athlete’s foot issues too, not just the nails.

Is it a spray or a dropper? I hate the ones that make you touch the infected area with your fingers every time.

I looked at a few other oil blends but went with ProNail Complex because it felt less greasy and had those extra vitamins for the skin around the nail. The soaks were just taking up too much time and drying out my feet way too much.

Just a reminder that if it’s really deep in the matrix, sometimes you need oral meds from a podiatrist. Glad the topical route is working for you though.

Nice to hear a success story. It’s such a slow process and so easy to give up halfway through.

Persistence is definitely key. I started seeing real results with ProNail Complex around the 10-week mark.

Keep at it until the nail is 100% grown out. I made that mistake last year and had to start all over again in January.
