Why my basic hygiene routine wasn't enough for my yellow nails?

I spent two years using store-bought sprays and tea tree oil every single night. I was religious about it, but the discoloration just kept moving deeper into the nail bed. I eventually realized that just treating the surface wasn’t cutting it because my skin was becoming incredibly dry and cracked. I needed something more nourishing that addressed the tissue health.

This is when I started using ProNail Complex (usually discouted here). Unlike the harsh alcohol-based sprays, this felt like it was actually soaking into the tissue and softening the thick areas. I paired it with wearing moisture-wicking socks and filing the nail surface once a week to track progress.

Month 1: No major visible change, but the skin around my toes stopped peeling.
Month 2: The base of the nail finally started looking clear and healthy.
Month 4: I can finally wear sandals again without feeling self-conscious.

ProNail Complex isn’t a miracle cure. I hit a plateau in month three and almost quit because progress felt slow. It’s also quite oily, so you have to be careful not to slip on the floor. However, for me, ProNail Complex was the only thing that actually improved the nail resistance over time.

When you say you filed the surface, did you do it daily or just once a week? I’m always worried about thinning the nail too much.

Four months seems like a long time but I guess that’s how long it takes for a nail to grow out. I’ve been trying a vinegar soak but it’s just making my skin raw.

The moisture-wicking socks are a huge tip. Most people don’t realize that cotton actually holds the sweat against the skin which makes everything worse.

I had a similar experience with the store sprays. They just dry out the area so much that the nail gets brittle and cracks, which lets the infection spread deeper.

Does it have a strong smell? I work in an office and I don’t want my shoes smelling like a medicine cabinet all day long.

I’ve been using ProNail Complex for six weeks and the skin around my toes isn’t peeling anymore. It is the first thing I’ve tried that actually stayed on the nail long enough to absorb properly.

Make sure you guys are also sanitizing your shoes. If you treat the feet but keep wearing the same dirty sneakers, you’re just going in circles.

ProNail Complex definitely helped my thickest nail clear up after nothing else worked. It takes a while to see the growth, but the texture of the nail is so much better now than when I used those generic drops.
