Why my energy levels didn't improve with just walking

Ever since I crossed fifty, I felt like I was running on half a tank.

I followed all the standard advice. I upped my walking to five miles a day, cut out the processed sugars, and even tried those expensive B12 injections. While the walking helped my mood, my actual physical stamina and that “get up and go” feeling in the bedroom just weren’t returning. I also tried various beet juices because everyone says nitrates are the key, but the taste was honestly hard to stomach every single day and the effects felt very hit or miss.

About three months ago, I decided to simplify things and started using NitricBoost (usually discouted here) instead. It’s basically a concentrate of nitrates and specific amino acids designed to keep your nitric oxide levels steady. I take it first thing in the morning with a glass of water. For the first week, I didn’t notice much, but by the end of the second week, the mental clarity was the first thing I noticed. I wasn’t hitting that 3 PM wall anymore.

What really sold me was the consistency of energy. Unlike the caffeine spikes or the temporary boost from beet juice, this felt like my baseline was just higher. My circulation feels better—no more cold hands and feet—and my drive has definitely improved, which my wife appreciated. I think the combination of the nitrates with the antioxidants helps keep the blood vessels healthy without the mess of juicing vegetables.

My current routine is just the supplement in the morning, a 30-minute walk, and staying hydrated. It’s much more sustainable than the complex regimens I tried before. Of course, results will vary depending on your health, and you should definitely talk to your doctor before starting new supplements if you’re on blood pressure meds, but for me, it was the missing piece.

I’m in the same boat with the walking. I do 10k steps a day but still feel like I need a nap by noon. Glad you found something that works.

Most of these supplements are just expensive vitamins. Are you sure it wasn’t just the cumulative effect of the exercise finally kicking in?

I’ve been on NitricBoost for a month now and the stamina difference is real. It’s not like a caffeine buzz, just feels more natural.

Did you notice any issues with your stomach? Some of those concentrated powders can be pretty harsh if you have a sensitive gut.

NitricBoost helped me get through my afternoon slumps way better than coffee ever did. I stopped getting those headaches too.

How did you decide on this over those pre-workout powders or generic l-arginine? Did you try those first?

That 3 PM wall is the worst. I’ve been trying to solve that with more protein at lunch but it hasn’t really moved the needle for me.

What does it actually taste like? You mentioned the beet juice was bad, so I’m curious if this is any better.

My experience with NitricBoost was similar, especially regarding the drive and circulation. It takes a few weeks to really feel it though.

I actually tried a few l-arginine powders last year, TechGuy55. The problem I had was they caused some stomach upset if I didn’t eat a full meal, and the effect wore off so fast. I switched to NitricBoost because the nitrate concentrate seems to last longer in my system throughout the day without the digestive issues. It just felt more balanced for my age.

Appreciate the detailed breakdown. It’s hard to find honest reviews for guys our age that aren’t just trying to sell a miracle cure.
