A big hello to everyone dealing with rosacea, lupus, KP, or scarring who feels like flawless skin is out of reach!

You see so many photos on this subreddit and others like /r/asianbeauty showing off flawless, radiant complexions. Personally, I struggle with rosacea, KP, and visible scars across my body, and I’ve come to terms with the fact that my skin will never match those standards. While I can certainly make improvements, achieving “perfection” just isn’t in the cards for me, and that can be really discouraging at times. I wanted to share some encouragement for others in the same boat. Stay positive! The aim isn’t to be perfect; it’s about finding a consistent skincare habit that supports your unique needs.

This is such a lovely message. I live with lupus and put a lot of effort into my skincare. However, when a flare-up hits, I’m left with rashes that take ages to fade once the flare subsides. I also deal with a mild butterfly rash and redness that makes me feel like I need to wear makeup constantly. I’m sticking with my routine, but it definitely feels overwhelming sometimes.

I was just recently told I have rosacea, so I really needed to hear this today. Realizing I have to be so mindful of my diet and the ingredients I use just to get my skin looking somewhat normal is a bit intimidating.
