If this ingredient has caused you trouble, please post your stories here. I recently dealt with a bunch of breakouts because of it, and as soon as I stopped using it, my complexion improved almost instantly.
That’s how I react to Vitamin C serums. However, HA works great for me, leaving my skin soft and plump. I suppose everyone’s skin reacts differently.
I appreciate this! My skin can’t stand it, yet it’s in almost every product now. I find so many items I’d love to test, but then I notice HA on the label
It’s saving me money, I guess, but it’s still frustrating.
Could someone explain how to identify the culprit? I already avoid Vitamin C and Niacinamide, but now I’m questioning if HA is causing problems too.
Literally any ingredient can trigger a reaction depending on the person. Plenty of people have no issues with it, while others get irritated. It’s the same deal with Niacinamide, Vitamin C, scents, and so on.
HA actually works wonders for me; I’ve noticed a big difference using The Ordinary’s serum. Niacinamide is fine too. But Vitamin C… that totally ruined my skin for several weeks.
My skin was fine with HA for a year, but then I suddenly became sensitive and broke out in countless tiny bumps. Once I stopped, my skin recovered, though now I’m finding that other products I used back then also cause breakouts.
Everyone has a unique skin type. HA makes mine look amazing.
Dermatologist Dr. Shereen Idriss has been pointing this out forever! HA can definitely irritate the skin and lead to inflammation if you use too much, which happens easily since it’s added to so many different products.
