Dealing with chronic inflammation in my lower back?

I’ve spent the better part of my late fifties dealing with a nagging, dull ache in my lumbar region. It wasn’t just old age; it felt like a constant pressure on my nerves. I tried the usual ibuprofen regimen and those sticky heating pads, but they only masked the discomfort temporarily.

I eventually came across a topical blend called Balmorex (ordered here). I was skeptical because I’ve tried Arnica gels before with mixed results. However, this one felt different. It has a 27-in-1 formula that includes things like MSM and Indian Frankincense, which I’d read about for nerve pressure. Unlike the heavy pills that often messed with my stomach, this is a localized approach that doesn’t leave me feeling groggy.

My progress wasn’t overnight. During the first month, I just noticed it absorbed quickly without leaving a greasy residue on my shirts. By the second month, I realized I could sit through a two-hour movie without needing to stand up and pace the lobby. That was a huge win for me.

Around the three-month mark, I had a small setback after overdoing it while gardening. Usually, that would put me on the couch for a week, but using Balmorex twice a day helped me bounce back in just forty-eight hours. It’s been about five months now, and while I still have some stiffness on rainy days, my overall quality of life is much higher.

Just a few honest caveats: it’s not a miracle cure that works in five minutes. You have to be consistent with the application. Also, it has a distinct ginger and frankincense scent—I find it soothing, but it might be strong for some. It’s definitely more effective than the standard drugstore creams I used to rely on, but it requires patience.

Does the scent linger for a long time? I work in a small office and I’m always paranoid about smelling like a medicine cabinet.

I’ve tried so many topicals and they usually just provide a cooling sensation but don’t actually touch the deep ache. Interesting to hear about the MSM focus.

Glad to hear you found something that works for the lumbar issues. That nerve pressure is no joke once you hit sixty.

How many times a day are you applying it? I find that I usually forget to keep up with topicals if they require more than twice a day.

I’ve heard Indian Frankincense is great for inflammation. Did you notice any skin irritation? My skin has gotten so sensitive lately.

I started using Balmorex for my hands last month and it’s been a game changer for my knitting. My fingers don’t lock up nearly as much as they used to.

Balmorex really helped with my post-hike recovery. It absorbs much better than the cheap drugstore stuff I used to buy in bulk.

I’m curious about the ‘27-in-1’ part. That sounds like a lot of ingredients. Does it feel heavy on the skin?

MichiganGardener58, did you change anything else in your routine? Like stretching or diet? Sometimes it’s hard to tell what’s doing the heavy lifting.

The ginger scent actually sounds quite nice. Most of these creams smell like pure menthol which I can’t stand.

I’m always wary of things that claim to be a chemistry researcher’s secret, but the results you’re describing seem very grounded and realistic.

My lower back has been a mess since I retired. I might give this a shot since I’m trying to cut back on the oral anti-inflammatories.

My physical therapist actually mentioned Balmorex to me, and my knee stiffness has significantly decreased since I began using it daily. It’s definitely worth the try if you’re consistent.
