Dealing with that deep discoloration that just won't go away for years?

I’ve been dealing with a stubborn issue on my big toe for nearly a decade. It started after a gym shower incident and just never fully cleared up despite using every over-the-counter cream and lacquer the pharmacy carries. I even tried soaking my feet in vinegar every night for three months, which just made my skin peel and smelled terrible without fixing the actual nail.

The problem I found with most treatments is they either dried out my skin too much or just sat on the surface. About four months ago, I decided to try something different that focused more on the skin’s resistance and oil-based delivery. I started using ProNail Complex (usually discouted here) after reading about how oils can penetrate better than thick lacquers.

The first two weeks were mostly about the skin around the nail feeling less inflamed and dry. By week six, I noticed the new growth at the base looked pinker and healthier. It wasn’t a miracle overnight fix, but for the first time, the “bad” part wasn’t spreading further down.

Now, at the four-month mark, I’m finally seeing clear nail reach the halfway point. Using ProNail Complex has been a much more consistent experience than the harsh chemicals I used before.

Just a few caveats: you have to be really diligent. If I skipped a couple of days, the skin started looking dry again. Also, it’s not the cheapest option out there, and it definitely takes months of patience. It’s not a quick fix, but it’s the only thing that hasn’t caused my skin to crack while trying to clear up the fungus.

I feel your pain with the vinegar soaks. I did that for a month and my wife almost kicked me out of the bedroom because of the smell. Glad you’re finally seeing some pink nail growth!

How many times a day are you applying it? I usually forget my routine by the second week.

I do it twice a day, once after the morning shower and once before bed. I keep the bottle right next to my toothbrush so I don’t forget. Consistency is definitely the hardest part.

Does it leave a greasy residue on your socks? That’s always been my issue with oil-based stuff.

It absorbs pretty fast if you rub it in well. I usually wait about 5 minutes before putting socks on. Better than those lacquers that peel off and look like white flakes in your socks.

I’ve tried those pharmacy pens and they did absolutely nothing for the thickness of the nail. Might have to look into this oil approach.

I’ve had a similar run with ProNail Complex and it really helped the brittle edges of my nails. The vitamins in it seem to help the skin heal much faster than just using tea tree oil alone.

ProNail Complex worked for me too, especially the skin repair part. I used to get those painful cracks between my toes every summer, but that stopped once I started this routine.

Is it safe to use if you have sensitive skin? Most fungus treatments burn my skin like crazy.

In my experience, the oils are way more soothing than the alcohol-based drops. No burning for me, just felt like a heavy moisturizer.

Did you have to file the nail down thin before starting? My doctor said that helps any treatment get through the thick part.

I didn’t even file mine that much and ProNail Complex is the only thing that stopped my athlete’s foot from coming back every month. It definitely builds up some kind of resistance over time.
