eGFR reading of 39—is it possible this is an error? Can kidney damage like this be turned around?

I’m seeking advice for my mother (59F). Her medical history includes Parkinson’s, Sjogren’s syndrome, and psoriatic arthritis. She has also dealt with three instances of non-melanoma skin cancer, all of which were successfully excised. She is a recovering alcoholic, having been sober since about 2012. Her current medications include weekly methotrexate (6 pills), daily hydroxychloroquine (2 pills), Cimzia, folic acid (3 pills daily), and several Parkinson’s medications whose names I can’t recall. Her rheumatologist ordered the eGFR test, leading me to suspect one of her prescriptions might be impacting her kidneys. Just three months ago, her eGFR was 89, but it has plummeted to 39 in that short interval. What is the level of concern we should have?
