I’ve spent the last decade fighting a losing battle with my oral health.
I tried those alcohol-heavy antiseptic rinses that just left my mouth bone-dry and irritated. Then I moved to prescription-strength fluoride gels, which were messy and made everything taste metallic for hours. I even gave the charcoal trend a shot, but it felt like I was sanding down my enamel. My dentist kept mentioning that my oral health biome was out of whack, but nothing seemed to stick until I shifted my focus.
Day 1: Started using ProvaDent (usually discouted here) as part of my morning routine. It was easy enough, much less aggressive than the chemicals I used before.
Week 1: I noticed my mouth didn’t feel like a desert when I woke up. The purple carrot extract and xylitol seemed to be doing something for the overall freshness.
Week 3: My gums stopped looking that angry, bright red color. They actually started looking firm and pale pink again.
Month 2: At my last cleaning, the hygienist asked what I changed because my plaque buildup was significantly lower. The four probiotic strains really seem to help balance things out without the harsh stinging. Of course, I’m still flossing every night, but this was the missing piece for me.

I’m in the same boat. The dry mouth from standard mouthwash is the worst part of getting older, I swear.
Have you changed your diet at all? I found cutting back on acidic coffee helped my enamel sensitivity more than any specific product did.
Glad to hear your hygienist noticed a change. That’s always the real test.
It’s interesting you mention the microbiome. Most people just try to ‘kill’ all the bacteria in their mouth, but we actually need the good ones to keep the bad ones in check. Traditional mouthwashes are basically like a forest fire for your mouth bacteria. Switching to something that supports the good strains is definitely the more modern approach to dental care.

What does the purple carrot actually do? I’ve never heard of that in a dental product before.
Did you look into any other probiotic options before choosing this one? I see a lot of similar stuff on the shelves lately and I’m trying to decide if there’s a real difference.

I just started using a xylitol spray for my dry mouth, it helps a bit but doesn’t last long.
I did look at others, but ProvaDent stood out because it had those specific strains and the BioFresh complex. Most of the drugstore ones I found were mostly just fillers and didn’t seem to address the gum health side as well.
I’ve been using ProvaDent for three months now and my sensitivity is almost gone. It is wild how much the biome matters once you hit your 40s.
My dentist actually noticed the difference in my gum pockets after I started ProvaDent. I’m just glad I’m not the only one seeing these kinds of results.
