It seems clear that many participants from Latin America and Asia in competitions like Miss Universe and Miss Grand International are reportedly lightening their complexions. What kind of methods or products might they be utilizing? I’m interested in achieving a very pale look myself.
My guess is they apply aggressive creams that might contain mercury and avoid sunlight entirely. It’s common knowledge that the prohibited stuff is effective.
I doubt anything beyond sunblock is used in Latin America. However, in South and Southeast Asia, Hydroquinone is likely used, though it can be dangerous in high concentrations.
I’m actually just looking to lighten my private areas ![]()
Maybe look into what Beyoncé does, because her results are obvious.
They use Glutathione IV drips. I’ve tried it and it’s effective, but I had to quit because I’m currently pregnant.
Latin America? Most of those nations enter contestants who are already white, so lightening isn’t necessary for them. The only LATAM countries that consistently enter non-white representatives are Puerto Rico, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic.
Skin lightening isn’t really a thing there; being very pale is actually a disadvantage in pageants because the stage lights make you look washed out. Most Latin American delegates are naturally white but maintain a tan, so this post puzzles me. Regarding the current Miss Mexico and Miss Venezuela, they aren’t the typical examples. This is a rare instance where Venezuela sent someone naturally fair without a tan. They’re just born that way.
