As a physical therapist specializing in vertigo, migraines, and headaches for more than seven years, I want to share some advice. If you’re struggling, don’t just rely on your primary doctor or Google. Instead, seek out a certified PT. We can provide a proper diagnosis and refer you to a neurologist if necessary, though vestibular rehabilitation is the solution in about 90% of cases. Sadly, many urgent care clinics and general practitioners don’t fully grasp these symptoms; if they rule out life-threatening issues like tumors or strokes, they often brush you off. It’s painful to see so many people struggling here. You can see a PT directly without a referral in most cases, depending on your insurance. I’m available to help those in Arizona, but if you’re elsewhere, check this link to find a specialist in your area: https://dizzy.com/patients/find-certified-providers/
Very useful information. Thank you so much.
This might be accurate if you’re experiencing balance problems. Otherwise, vestibular rehab won’t do much, so it’s really only worth considering if your issues are clearly related to your sense of equilibrium.
You should research Binocular Vision Dysfunction (BVD), as it covers all these symptoms. I tried physical therapy for a long time without success because the root cause was actually my eyes. Once I was diagnosed with BVD and started wearing micro-prism lenses, I felt much better. Be sure to visit a specialist specifically for BVD; standard eye doctors often lack the precise tools to detect tiny misalignments. I personally visited Vision Specialists of Michigan, and their site is full of great resources. It’s such a relief to finally find a solution after years of searching.
