Is it possible that my liver was the missing piece for my digestion?

I spent most of my late fifties thinking that if I just ate more yogurt and took more fiber, my system would eventually start moving normally again. I tried every brand of probiotic on the shelf, spent a fortune on those green powders, and even cut out gluten for six months. Nothing really stuck. I would feel a bit better for a week, then the bloating and that heavy, sluggish feeling would just come right back. It felt like I was treating the symptoms but never hitting the root cause.

About four months ago, I started looking into how liver health actually supports the whole digestive tract. I realized I was neglecting that side of things entirely. I decided to try a different approach and started taking Finnesa (i get it here) every morning with my breakfast.

The first two weeks weren’t a miracle. I actually felt a bit more gassy at first, which almost made me quit. But by week four, I noticed I wasn’t feeling that “brick in my stomach” after dinner anymore. It felt like things were actually processing instead of just sitting there.

By the second month of using Finnesa, my energy levels were much more consistent. I wasn’t getting that 3 PM crash that usually follows a heavy lunch. It’s been about four months now, and while it’s not a magic cure—I still have to watch my fried food intake—the difference in my regularity is night and day compared to when I was just loading up on fiber.

One thing to keep in mind is that this isn’t an overnight fix. If you’re looking for an immediate “cleanse” effect, this probably isn’t it. It’s more of a gradual shift. I also found I had to drink a lot more water than usual to really see the benefits. It’s an investment in your routine, but for me, it beat the endless cycle of expensive probiotics that did nothing.

That initial gas you mentioned is exactly why I usually stop taking new things. How long did it take to clear up? I’m 65 and my stomach is so sensitive lately.

I’m in the same boat with the fiber. My doctor just keeps saying ‘eat more bran’ but it just makes me feel more bloated. Interesting point about the liver connection.

Is this just another way of saying ‘liver detox’? I’ve tried those teas before and they were just laxatives in disguise. Is this different?

The water intake is huge. I noticed that with any supplement for digestion, if I’m dehydrated, it just sits there and does nothing. Glad you mentioned that.

I started Finnesa last month after seeing my sister use it. It definitely helped with that heavy feeling after meals and I didn’t have the gas issues the OP had.

Do you take it with a full meal or just a light snack? I find some things are too heavy for my stomach first thing in the morning.

I’ve been reading about milk thistle and artichoke extract for liver support. Does this have similar ingredients? I’ve had some luck with those individually.

The gluten-free phase was the worst for me too. Spent so much money on cardboard-tasting bread and my gut didn’t even feel better.

Finnesa has been a staple for me for three months now. My digestion feels much more predictable than it ever did when I was just cycling through different probiotics.

I ordered some but it took almost a week to arrive. Customer service was nice, but the shipping was a bit slow in my area. Hopefully the results are worth the wait.

I agree with the OP, Finnesa worked better for my gut balance than the standard probiotics I was taking before. It feels more comprehensive.

Does this interfere with coffee? I can’t give up my morning cup but I don’t want to ruin the effectiveness of the supplement.

It’s so refreshing to see people our age talking about this. My kids think I’m obsessed with my digestion, but they don’t get how much it affects your whole day.

Good point about the 3 PM crash. I never connected my afternoon tiredness to my digestion, but it makes total sense if your body is struggling to process lunch.
