I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia back in 2021. For a while, I’ve had occasional stinging pains, but it has recently worsened. I’m now experiencing pins and needles and vibrations in my feet. I’ve also developed a sensitivity to heat; hot showers now trigger sharp pains throughout my body. I’ve heard that small fiber neuropathy is common among fibro patients and I’m wondering if anyone else relates? I’ve been inconsistent with Cymbalta in the past, but I’ve started taking it daily again to see if it helps. I can’t quite remember if it was effective when I took it regularly before. My nerve pain is significantly worse now than it was two years ago, but I’m hoping that staying consistent with the medication will help this time.
Unfortunately, I’m going through a lot of that right now too. I’ve been getting intense sharp pains in both feet, and the numbness and tingling are becoming more constant. It used to come and go, but now it’s an everyday thing and it’s making me feel unsteady. I’m scheduled to see a neurologist for nerve and muscle testing to rule out other causes. I also picked up some toe spacers and a nubby massage ball for my feet; it hurts a bit, but I believe it helps with my circulation. Regarding the showers, I had that issue too. It might be an increase in overall pain sensitivity rather than just the heat. Try turning the temperature down slightly and see if your body can adjust. It really is tough.
