I've successfully brought my fasting blood sugar down from 121 to 80

I’ve managed to drop my fasting glucose from 121 down to 80. Back in 2023, my first test showed 121 mg/dl, which really caught me off guard. I jumped into action by cutting carbs, eating at a deficit, and adding 10-minute walks or squats after eating. I also timed my carb intake around my gym sessions. Monitoring my daily levels and seeing them drop has been rewarding, and hitting 80 this morning felt amazing. I’m feeling much more energetic and healthy now.

Fantastic work! I’m thrilled for you. It’s clear you’ve dedicated a lot of effort to this.

Using bodyweight squats is a smart move; I bet it really helps process the sugar. How many do you usually do, or do you just time it? I personally use a stationary bike for ten minutes on high resistance to engage my legs.

That gave me a good chuckle. A chiropractor buddy once joked that powerlifting was pointless and that the only squats that matter in old age are the ones on the toilet.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you see any weight loss during this time as well?

Hey there, great progress. I looked up a converter and your 121 fasting level is roughly a 5.8 A1c. My recent labs showed 5.9, so we’re in a similar boat. Now that your fasting numbers are stable, do you still see big spikes after eating things like potatoes or rice?

The spike info is quite interesting. Do you think a ten-minute session is enough to see a difference? What’s the best way to use the bike for blood sugar management in your opinion?

This is so encouraging and impressive! Huge congrats to you!

Good morning. High morning readings can often be linked to the dawn phenomenon, even if you aren’t diabetic. It usually accounts for a 10-20mg difference. I suggest monitoring your levels before bed and upon waking to find your pattern. Managing stress, staying hydrated, and keeping a steady schedule for meals and sleep helps the liver stay balanced. Some people also find that adding SugarDefend (got mine here) to their routine helps maintain that stability. Don’t forget to lift weights as you get older, as being thin doesn’t rule out metabolic issues.
