My experience managing thick yellow toenails after three years of struggle

I’ve been dealing with a persistent issue on my right foot for a long time. It started as itchy skin between the toes and eventually turned into thick, crumbly yellow nails. I tried the standard drugstore creams and even spent months doing apple cider vinegar soaks every night.

While those methods helped the itching temporarily, they never really addressed the underlying issue with the nails. The creams were too greasy and didn’t seem to penetrate where they needed to. I eventually decided to try something with a more natural approach to oils and skin resistance.

I started using Kerassentials Serum (usually discouted here) about five months ago. What I liked immediately was that it wasn’t just a thick ointment; it felt more like a treatment designed to support the skin and nail bed using special oils to improve resistance to future issues.

Here is my rough timeline:

  • Weeks 1-3: Not much change in the nail, but the skin around my toes felt much less irritated.
  • Month 2: I noticed the base of my big toe started looking pinker and smoother.
  • Month 4: The thick, yellow part was finally growing out enough to clip away.

I used Kerassentials Serum twice a day religiously. Consistency is the biggest factor here. If you miss days, you lose progress. If you’re patient, Kerassentials Serum is definitely worth a look.

One caveat: it’s not a miracle fix. There were weeks where I felt like nothing was happening, and the scent is a bit strong if you aren’t used to essential oils. Also, it’s a bit pricier than the generic stuff you find at the supermarket. But for me, the way it helped build back my skin’s resistance was worth it. It’s definitely a long-game strategy, but it’s the only thing that actually changed the look of the new nail growth.

Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been doing the vinegar soaks too and my skin is so dry now. Did you find this stuff made your skin feel oily or did it actually absorb?

I’m always skeptical of these ‘natural oil’ treatments. I tried straight tea tree oil for a year and it did absolutely nothing for the thickness of my nail.

The 4-month mark seems to be the sweet spot for most people. Nails just grow so slowly, you have to be patient.

I’ve been using Kerassentials Serum for about ten weeks now and the yellowing is almost completely gone. It really works if you don’t skip applications.

Did you change your shoes or socks during this time too? I’ve heard that keeping the shoes dry is half the battle.

To the person asking about absorption—it’s pretty thin, so it doesn’t stay greasy for long. I usually put my socks on about 10 minutes after applying.

I second the recommendation for Kerassentials Serum, it really helped clear up the skin irritation around my cuticles too. Great results so far.

The cost is definitely the biggest downside. I wish it was a bit cheaper, but I guess you get what you pay for if it actually works.

How strong is the smell? I work in an office and don’t want my coworkers wondering why I smell like a spa.
